SORE has learned that the Town’s advisory Municipal Heritage Committee (MHC) is to consider the latest outrageous Marotta proposal for the Rand Estate next Wednesday evening, July 8 in the Town Council Chambers.
We have not yet seen the staff report to MHC in advance of this meeting but expect to see it this afternoon at some point. In light of the Denise Horne report, as endorsed by Council in April of 2023, and the October, 2024 OLT decision, anything other than a recommendation that the MHC recommend that the application be refused in its entirety will be inexplicable. We will circulate the staff report when we have it.
Also on the agenda for next Wednesday’s MHC meeting is the Royal George.
