June 9 public input session on Marotta Rand subdivision confirmed

Article posted on May 19, 2022

The Town has now confirmed that it will be holding a public input session on the Marotta Rand subdivision proposal on Thursday, June 9, starting at 6 p.m. The link to the notice and further information is notl.com/business-development/public-planning-notices.

Disappointingly, this will be a virtual “meeting” and not the in-person meeting that SORE had sought. SORE continues to believe that an in-person meeting, such as the one the Town held in early 2018 on the Marotta Rand hotel that attracted an overflow crowd of some 800 people, is a much superior way for the Town to solicit public input.

Nonetheless we and the community will have to work with this format unless Council can be persuaded to change its mind and move this to an in-person format. Some or all of SORE’s experts will likely be making brief presentations that evening. WE ENCOURAGE MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY TO MAKE ORAL COMMENTS THAT EVENING. YOU MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE TO DO SO. Such registrations must be made with Town Clerk Ralph Walton at [email protected] or 905-468-3266.

If you simply wish to view the session, you can do so at the following link: notl.com/council-government.

If you wish to submit written comments, which we also encourage, they should be submitted to the Town Clerk via email at [email protected]. You should reference NOTL file no’s OPA-02-2020, ZBA-11-2020 and 26T-18-20-01.

If you would like our assistance, please contact us at [email protected]

Thank you for your continued support and encouragement.
