Reminder of Municipal Heritage Committee virtual meeting on Wednesday

Article posted on April 11, 2023

SORE reminds its supporters and all interested parties of the special Municipal Heritage Committee meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, April 12 at 5 p.m.

The sole purpose of the meeting is to consider a number of applications for demolition and alteration permits under the Heritage Act by the Marotta companies. Those permits are essential for the subdivision proposal as the Rand Estate is subject to extensive heritage designation bylaws under the Heritage Act.

The applicant and SORE have both been allotted half-hour slots to make a presentation to the MHC. We expect Town heritage planner Denise Horne will also lead the Committee through her excellent report, which was released last week as we recently reported on.

We encourage you to log in and watch. This is a very important step in the process. The link to log in is below. It is not too late to register if you wish to make brief remarks tonight in support of Ms Horne’s report and/or SORE. The link is also reproduced below.

We also strongly encourage you to attend the upcoming Council meeting in person on April 24 at 5 p.m. at the Community Centre. We will be reminding you of that important special meeting as the date draws closer.
