SORE is very pleased to report that it has been nominated for the prestigious Margaret and Nicholas Hill Cultural Landscape Award by Architectural Conservancy Ontario. The ACO nomination announcement can be viewed at acoheritageawards.ca/save-our-rand-estate.
The award recognizes an individual or group that has endeavoured to preserve or raise awareness of and appreciation for a significant Cultural Heritage Landscape as defined by the Ontario Heritage Trust. It was named to honour the Hills, who contributed extensively to the ACO for decades. Nicholas Hill was a pioneer in heritage conservation district planning in Canada.
The recipient of the award will be announced on October 14. We will advise on the outcome then.
