Trial dates set for Marotta companies prosecution

Article posted on September 1, 2022

At long last the Town’s prosecution of the Marotta companies for the outrageous clear cutting of the Rand Estate shortly after the last municipal election will be heard by the courts.

Trial dates starting October 17, 18, 24 and 25 have been set aside by the court to start.

To the surprise of no one who has followed the Marotta legal tactics on the Rand Estate, the Town’s ability to even prosecute for this clear cutting is being challenged in a preliminary Charter motion on September 12.
We are assuming the start time is 9 am and will advise if this is incorrect.

The court address is 455 East Main Street in Welland.

SORE will have observers in court on September 12 and thereafter assuming the trial proceeds as scheduled. We welcome our supporters to join us.
